About us

Spunk

Howdy! I'm Spunk and part-owner in this fab little business. I'm your typical mid-twenties, small-business working girl with a little "spunk" on the way! I work 8-5 as a Marketing Manager for an engineering firm in Houston. I have a PR degree, but find marketing is really where I want to be. Engineering doesn't allow for too much fun creativity, so that's why I really get to stretch my legs with Spunk & Sass!

I've always been into crafts whether it be coloring, doodling, jewelry, sewing or just making something to make something. I have this bad little habit where if I see something I like, I try to re-create it. On one hand it's a great trait, as I'm always learning new things, but a curse sometimes when you dabble your fingers in everything. Cost starts to add up! That aside, DIY is a big part of my life and I love it. I'm commonly referred to as "a modern-day Martha Stewart," but I digress. I just love making things. The simple satisfaction I feel when I've made something is all that I really need.

I'm a spunky little individual with a big heart and have a love for adventure. I've been married to my husband for a little over two years, but we've been together for over 10 -- high school sweethearts! We're excited to be welcoming our first baby into the world late May - oh the accessories that girl will have! We have two lovable dogs who will certainly lick you to death if you let them, but they're the best. I'm just living life, loving my husband, looking forward to the future, and enjoying this business venture with my best friend!

Sass

I have had many changes in the last year since we started this little endeavour. My little house hold in Texas has grown a bit. My sweet husband and I found out in December of last year that we were pregnant with identical twin boys!!! Overjoyed, yet bombarded with complications we welcomed 2 tiny beautiful boys into our family very early. After 5 months in the NICU we are now a family of 3 + 1 angel in heaven. We have faith that this all was in God's plan for our family and he will guide us thru.

With those big changes, my "work schedule" obviously had to change. I am now a happy stay at home momma! In life I always knew my job would lead me to this. I was a teacher for 5 years and will continue to teach, just in a different way! Hopefully I can do some teaching with my best friend on this site too!

As far as my crafting life...I'm on a rollercoaster at the moment! I started my love of crafting long ago and I don't think I'll ever find a craft I don't like! Name it, I've tried it. From scrapbooking to decoupaging, to jewelry making to needlepoint and hand embroidering. I'm now jumping in to sewing with a machine. Everyone in my family has tried to teach me, but it took me buying my first machine to get me into it. Spunk has introduced me to so many crafts I could have never thought to even look into, I hope together we can do the same for you!
